I decided that it will be almost impossible for me to finish the challenge quilt on time, so I thought I'd put a photo of the work in progress here. Remember, the theme of the challenge is "Up on a Rooftop" so I was planning to do something clever on the rooftop. I never really did think of anything clever, except some rather complicated ideas that would involve lots of teeny-tiny pieces of fabric. So it may remain as is. The snowman will be embellished with buttons and embroidery. The gold stars will continue around all sides. I'll see what I come up with between now and Christmas.
In knitting news, I finished the Fanny Basket, but am waiting on the felting of the three pieces I have ready to felt. I'm thinking about trying the laundromat so I can use a top loading machine. I have some trouble using my incredibly efficient front loader and it takes a certain touch to felt in it. I occasionally do it quite wrong and have the failures to prove it. I doubt I'll be showing them here though!
I did start a new project today. For goodness sakes it's only another little felted bag. The French Market Bag to be exact and I may use some modifications I have found online. I'm making it in blue and green Lamb's Pride worsted. Photos to come when I get back from my trip. Chloe and I leave for Sacramento tomorrow where we are sure to be roasted in the heat. Next posting on Tuesday!
