Last Friday our homeschool group went on a little letterboxing adventure. It was a lot of fun and really opened my eyes to the possibility of making my own stamps. We've had all the supplies for years and have made the occasional linocut block, but didn't think about making our own stamps really.
Every single one of these stamps is hand carved. Aren't they wonderful! Not only was that fun, but the kids had a great time playing alongside the river.

We did two letterboxes that day and second one was really cool because the directions were so interesting. We were told to look for a pink hippo and look what we found.
We had such a fun time and were so inspired by the stamps, that we came home and immediately got to work making our own. Chloe made the Quetzal because that is her animal name (we use it for geocaching, Campfire and other times, when a nickname is required). I made the others, starting with the word- yum! and moving on to the simpler heart and raindrops. Stay tuned for more of these little gems.
