Winter came back a few days ago with a decent snowfall of about 5 inches. We're having snow showers off and on now.
The weather has made it especially easy to stay indoors and work on all the projects that have languished over the past few weeks. Finally, a free weekend! I made some nice headway on Rogue and was able to try it on today to see how it fits. It looks good so far!
I really love this cable detail.
I have also made headway with many of the quilt WIPs including the Christmas quilt which I plan to finish for the Sister's Quilt Show in July. I finished the applique, embroidered the snowman and basted it. I have even started the hand quilting, which will be the slowest part of the whole process. The quilt show gives me a good incentive to get this done. I notice that I really only feel like working on a holiday quilt when it's the season, but of course, there's never enough time. So, it gets put away until the next holiday. Hopefully, this will do the trick.
Lately, I've been very inspired by these books.
I'm really interested in the folk art style right now and these are my muses. The blue and yellow quilt from the previous post was inspired by these- especially Gwen Marston's book. More to come on that. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying this crafting time. We have more free time tomorrow and Tuesday, so we'll see how much I can do!
