Especially when you're knitting food!
I just made up all the patterns as I went, pretty much. There wasn't any planning of any sort.

I think this is my favorite of everything I made. It was the first thing I made, too. It also probably took the longest. Heheh.
A lone little chocolate chip cookie. Presumably it's escaped from a jar somewhere and is looking for a vegan home!
Oh I do also love this sunny-side-up egg. It's just cute! (I put a little bit of stuffing in the yolk to make it pop up like a real yolk, too.)
A marshmallow! It will someday be part of a smore, I just have to finish knitting the second graham cracker.
I also really like this chicken leg. I don't know why, really. I just do.
Yay for fake food!
I think that egg needs a piece of knitted bacon. ;-)

The fake food is great! I got some felt to sew up some fake food for Miles. It didn't even dawn on me to knit food. Yeah, the chicken leg is really cool.
