Ryan got this toy for Christmas, and we just couldn't stop laughing when we read the box.  Seriously.  How many things are wrong with this picture?!?!  What in the world could they be trying to say with "flashing enter" and "come on !friend come together!!"  And we all know r/c stands for RADION CONTROL...  Heheh.

New haircut!

So, my hair got cut off and sent to Locks Of Love today!  It was pretty exciting.  

Voila!  

Off With Her Head! (of hair!)

It's finally time to say goodbye to my long, long hair.  Tomorrow it's going to be cut off and sent to Locks Of Love, and I'll have a very new haircut!  I'm really excited for one reason - it's going to be so much easier to brush my hair now!!!  

I'm planning on keeping as much of my hair as possible (I'm quite attached to it, you see) so it'll probably be about shoulder-length when we're all done.  I think I'll have a little bit of layering done as well.  But not a lot.  I hate fussy haircuts.  

So, goodbye hair!  I hope you make a nice wig!

What I want to eat

Here's why...

Alright so you may have noticed I haven't posted for a while.  Well, the reason is that I had a perforated colon and ended up being in the hospital for a few days.  Now I'm not allowed to eat anything (I can drink clear liquids, that's it) for over a month!  I have to get nutrition through an IV.  Bleh.  (At least I'm only hooked up mainly at night; I get 8 hours off during the day.)

But still, this really stinks because I really like food.  Really like it.  I was planning on making ravioli for Christmas dinner but I didn't get to eat on Christmas!  I also got an Aebleskiver kit (aebleskivers are like little filled pancakes) for Christmas but I don't get to use it yet.  Of course I COULD use it, but I'd kind of like to be able to eat them so I'm waiting until I can.  Oh yeah and I want to try making some seitan because I just found out that you can do it at home.  And I was planning on getting some big tapioca pearls to make homemade bubble tea.  And I just got a jar of homemade pesto from our friend.  And I was going to have a cheese tasting for my birthday party!  (Did I mention I probably won't be able to eat on my birthday?)  

So you can probably tell how frustrating this is for me.  Especially when everyone else around me gets to keep eating.  (Really good smelling stuff, too.)  

I guess I just wanted to kind of vent somewhere.  So this works. 

I think I'll make a post about all the things I want to eat.  At least I can look at the photos.

Today I am...

Making... labels for the yummy-smelling chapstick we made at our friend's house last night.

Baking... snowball cookies for the impending mom's night out that's happening tonight at our house.  

Wondering... what exactly to do with these awesome glass bottles our friend gave me!

Admiring... the chihuahua poop candles and the 1 and 6 candles I made for my birthday cake next year.  (Did I just make it sound like the chihuahua poop candles are for my cake?  Heheh.  Well, they're not, but you know that might be kind of funny.)

Honolulu

 

We went to the Pearl Harbor memorial during our stay in Honolulu.  It was crowded, especially with the big group of school kids we happened to be stuck with.  Before you go out to the memorial you watch a movie about it, and that was pretty good.

 

We looked to see if our name was on there, but it wasn't.  (I did find 9 people with the same last name as one of my friends, though.)  Ryan wanted us to read the whole list to him.

 

Here are some of the surfboards that were right next to our hotel.  They were very colorful, all lined up like that.

 

We went to the Honolulu zoo and saw lots of birds, but we also saw some giraffes and even some elephants!  We were talking about how small the elephant's enclosure was, and then right after we saw this whole big space that they were going to make into the new elephant enclosure.  I hope they do it soon.

 

Then there were these guys!  I don't remember what they are; I think it might be a gibbon?  Anyway, they were pretty funny swinging around their trees.

 

We only stayed in Honolulu for two nights, and after that we drove across the island to another town.  On the way there we saw this lighthouse, and did a geocache right near it.  I think the star looks nice up there, especially with that red top.

We also went to a lookout.  It was really, really pretty!  (Also cold and windy, heheh.)  Only there were all these Japanese tourists smoking so that spoiled the view, having to hold my nose and everything.
